Thermal Transfer Labels
(Ribbon Required)

Scan Plus
Scan Plus is a semi gloss, top coated, paper stock for sharp thermal transfer printing. Its ultra smooth finish allows for premium thermal transfer imprinting, with a wax or wax/resin ribbon, at speeds up to 10" per second. The thickness of the face material provides excellent strength for both high-speed printing and automatic dispensing.

Polyester
This Polyester film is treated to accept thermal transfer imprinting. It is extremely durable with a high tear resistance, and the ability to withstand harsh environmental conditions. It is both UL and CSA approved and specification books note its certified material/ribbon combinations. Currently coated by Flexcon™ and 3M™, Polyester is best suited for applications that require high temperature or chemical resistance.

Scan Film
Scan Film is a coated, synthetic, paper face stock, which is used for thermal transfer or dot matrix printing. At the same speeds as paper, Scan Film can be imprinted with a wax or wax/resin ribbon. Scan Film is effective at temperatures ranging up to 200°F, above which a polyester label may be more suitable.

Synthetic Plus
Synthetic Plus is a white, biaxically oriented, multi-layered, polypropylene film. Synthetic plus features a strong, moisture resistant, glossy, and opaque design. It may be used in harsh environments, so long as it is imprinted with a wax/resin or hard resin ribbon. This imprinting can be done at slower speeds than paper. Since the print may burn into the material, the print head may need to be set at a slightly higher temperature. The material does not absorb adhesive, therefore only a light coat of adhesive should be considered. Synthetic Plus is effective at temperatures up to 200°F and at moderate levels of chemical resistance, above which a polyester label would be recommended.

Thermal Transfer Paper TAG
The Thermal Transfer Paper TAG is coated for thermal transfer imprinting. It can be imprinted with a wax or wax/resin ribbon at regular print speeds using a notch system on the side, or black timing bar on the back of the tag. The Thermal Transfer Paper TAG is effective for most indoor applications and not recommended for outdoor use.

Poly TAG
Poly TAG is an economical synthetic tag made from a low-density polyethylene film. It provides excellent strength and superior printability, while resisting tear, abrasion, moisture and humidity. It must be imprinted with a wax or wax/ resing ribbon, and requires a perf and notch system. Poly TAG is effective at temperatures up to 200°F, above which a valeron tag may be more durable.
